From the existing apartment on the ground floor, we designed an orthodontic clinic consisting of three separate treatment rooms, a reception with a waiting area, sanitary facilities, staff areas, a technical room, a cleaning room, and an X-ray room. To create the new sanitary facilities, the existing bathroom was divided into two toilets, a guest wash area, and a cleaning room. A corridor leads to the reception, where the waiting area was custom-designed. Behind the reception – which dominates the space not only with its volume but also with a structured cladding and a large wall covered with metal laminate – are the staff areas and one of the treatment rooms.

The entire interior follows a unified color and material scheme, combining light cream tones with stainless steel. The treatment and technical rooms feature antistatic vinyl flooring, which dissipates static electricity, reducing the risk of damage to sensitive electronics and equipment. The flooring is also made from recycled materials and can be recycled again after use.

Custom carpentry elements are designed as compact units throughout the space, providing ample storage and meeting the functional requirements of the clinic. Design simplicity and clarity were a priority, so most of the furnishings are built-in and custom-made according to our designs. Light and reflective materials enhance the sense of openness, and carefully planned lighting further brightens the interior.

Considering the age of the building, all interior doors were designed as panel doors, reflecting the original historic style. Existing windows were preserved and refurbished, with missing parts of historic hardware replaced by replicas.

In designing the new dental clinic, we approached the project with respect for the genius loci of Prague 1, while meeting contemporary requirements for modern healthcare facilities.
