Duplex for Two Brothers_DOCK

The Dock project consists of two units delivered in a shell-and-core condition. For us, this project was somewhat unusual in that we didn’t demolish anything; instead, we added new built-in elements and partitions to achieve a practical layout aligned with the client’s brief.

The larger apartment combines unconventional colors and materials—dark-stained oak veneer, a very light whitewashed oak floor, and a bold Verde Aver green marble finish. It includes two bathrooms: a private en-suite for the master bedroom, and a second one accessed via the utility room, which also serves the terrace with a hot tub and sauna. The main living space is zoned by a bespoke joinery element into several areas. The dominant zone upon entering is the living and dining area, anchored by a custom table by the Italian manufacturer Bonaldo. On one side, the kitchen is visually separated by a green island; on the other, two more intimate corners are created—a home office and a fireplace nook, complemented by brass shelves and an antiqued mirror.

The second apartment is designed in more natural beige tones. The living area connects directly to the kitchen and dining space. The bathroom is accessed from the entry hall and is located at the center of the apartment. To make the relatively small bathroom feel larger, we designed a glazed wall facing the bedroom, allowing daylight to enter the space.

Both units feature custom-made joinery with generous storage, keeping the interiors airy and uncluttered. The walls are finished with concrete microtopping, minimalist wallpapers, and distinctive ceramic tiles with a marble pattern. While the two apartments share a consistent color and material language—elegant and grounded in earthy tones—each maintains its own distinct character.
